Coleman Erupts In Men's Basketball's Lopsided Win at Wells

AURORA, N.Y. - Behind a monster game from Brandon Coleman, Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team rolled to a lopsided 89-67 road victory over United East foe Wells on Friday night, Jan. 28.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (15-1, 8-0 United East) rushed out to a double-digit lead and never looked backed en route to the team's 12th straight victory; this one over a scrappy Wells squad (11-7, 5-4 United East) on Friday night.

Brandon Coleman was outstanding, pouring in a career-high 27 points on 78.5 percent shooting. Donyae Baylor-Carroll added 17 points, Nate Curry finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 15 points and nine boards, and Pedro Rodriguez added 13 points off the bench.

Baylor-Carroll scorched the net to begin the game, going 3-for-3 from 3-point range in the opening two and a half minutes. Curry added seven points of his own and in the blink of an eye, the Lions led 17-2 less than four minutes into the first half.

The Blue & White stretched the lead to 20-plus midway through the opening half following a Curry 3-ball at the 9:30 mark before seven consecutive points from Coleman ballooned the advantage to 41-16 with 6:39 left before halftime.

The visitors led by 15 at the break and pushed the lead to as many as 24 points thanks to another Curry jumper from beyond the arc with 13:36 remaining. The Express mounted a late comeback attempt aided by an aggressive full-court press, cutting the deficit to 73-63 with 5:54 left to play but Baylor-Carroll stopped the bleeding with a tough layup in transition that sparked a 16-2 run for the Lions that put things out of reach down the stretch.
