Baylor-Carroll Named to Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List

2022 BEVO FRANCIS AWARD TOP 100 WATCH LIST

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball player Donyae Baylor-Carroll has been named to the 2022 Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List by Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee.  

 

The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations include season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character, and team achievements. This year's watch list consists of 100 of the top players from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA Division I, NAIA Division II, USCAA, and NCCAA.  

 

A D3hoops.com Preseason Second-Team All-American, Baylor-Carroll is in the midst of a stellar senior campaign. Through 14 contests, the versatile guard is averaging 17.2 points, 4.7 assists, and 2.6 steals per game, while shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point range and 85 percent from the foul line. The Harrisburg, Pa. native has performed among the nation's best this season and currently ranks 16th in the country in 3-point field goals made (46), 20th in total steals (37), 30th in steals per game, 35th in 3-pointers per game (3.29), 51st in total assists (66), and 67th in free throw percentage. 

 

Baylor-Carroll has helped lead Penn State Harrisburg to the best start in program history (13-1) and has been excellent during the team's ongoing 10-game win streak – also a program record. Earlier this season, he became the quickest player in program history to score 1,000 career points (60 games) and was named the United East Player of the Week in November (11/22).  

 

The Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List will shrink to 50 players on Feb. 15 before the top 25 players are announced on March 15.
