Men's Basketball Hits Triple Digits In Lopsided Win Over Berks

READING, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team posted its highest single-game point total of the season in a lopsided 103-64 road victory over United East foe Penn State Berks on Tuesday night, Jan. 11. The decisive win was the team's eighth in a row, matching the longest win streak in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (11-1, 4-0 United East) left zero doubt in its latest blowout victory, this one at conference opponent Penn State Berks (0-9, 0-3 United East) on Tuesday night. Donyae Baylor-Carroll netted a team-high 19 points, while Zegary Scott III scored 15 and finished one assist shy of a double-double. Nate Curry racked up 15 points on perfect shooting from the field to go along with eight rebounds, Malik Holland had 12 points off the bench, and Dylan Daniels added 11 points and four blocks.

The visitors wasted little time jumping out to a double-digit lead, with a Curry layup making it 15-4 and forcing Berks to burn a 30-second timeout at the 15:03 mark. The break did little to help the home team, however, as Penn State Harrisburg followed it up with a massive 27-4 run capped by a Scott steal and layup with 6:22 left in the first half.

Leading 53-26 at the break, the visiting Lions continued to pour it on early in the second half. Brandon Coleman made his presence known with a rim-rocking breakaway tomahawk jam little more than a minute after halftime and Baylor-Carroll buried back-to-back-to-back 3-balls, including a four-point play, to stretch the advantage to 70-33 with 16:23 remaining.

The lead reached 40-plus when Scott converted a layup off a Pedro Rodriguez find at the 12-minute mark and nearly hit 50 following a Holland 3-pointer that made it 88-39 a minute and a half later. The visitors began to empty the bench and eight reserves got into the scoring act before the final buzzer sounded.
