Baylor-Carroll Named United East Player of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to his efforts in a pair of victories last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Donyae Baylor-Carroll has been named the United East Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Baylor-Carroll made history in an overtime victory over Washington College on Tuesday night when he became the fastest player in program history to score 1,000 career points (60 games). The versatile guard buried the game-tying 3-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation to force OT before recording a block, rebound, and assist on the game-clinching dunk by Brandon Coleman in the final moments of the thrilling 87-84 win. The Harrisburg, Pa. native finished with 20 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, six steals, and a rejection in the victory. The third-year player followed it up by draining five 3-pointers en route to netting a game-high 23 points on 64 percent shooting from the floor in a convincing 84-64 win at Bridgewater (Va.) on Saturday afternoon. For the week, Baylor-Carroll averaged 21.5 points, six assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per contest.

The Lions (5-1) return to action when they host Messiah at the Capital Union Building on Monday night, Nov. 29. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
