Baylor-Carroll Named D3hoops.com Preseason All-American

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Ahead of the upcoming 2021-22 campaign, Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball player Donyae Baylor-Carroll has been named a Preseason Second-Team All-American by D3hoops.com.

Each year, the organization selects its preseason all-America team from the previous season's all-America and all-region honorees. Baylor-Carroll's most-recent accolade comes after he was named a Basketball Times Preseason All-American a year ago.

Following the 2019-20 season, Baylor-Carroll was named to the D3hoops.com All-East Region First Team and was pegged Second-Team All-East District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The senior also earned North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Player of the Year and NEAC First-Team All-Conference honors during his sophomore campaign. The Harrisburg, Pa. native was named to the City of Basketball Love (CoBL) All-Area Second Team after picking up NEAC Tournament MVP honors following his stellar play in the conference championship game. Baylor-Carroll was also named the NEAC Player of the Week three times in 2019-20.

The shifty guard's most impressive performance came when he scored a program-record 45 points in a double-overtime victory at No. 6 Johns Hopkins in the team's first-ever NCAA Tournament action in the spring of 2020. He averaged 35.5 points per contest across a pair of NCAA Tournament games against JHU and No. 13 Yeshiva. Baylor-Carroll ranked third in the nation in 3-point field goals made (118) and sixth in the country in 3-point field goals per game (4.07). For the year, he averaged 19.3 points, 4.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game, while shooting 40.7 percent from 3-point range to go along with 14 games in which he netted 20-plus points.

The Lions open the 2021-22 season by hosting Randolph at the Capital Union Building on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 6. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
