Baylor-Carroll Named Preseason All-America by Basketball Times

MATTHEWS, N.C. – Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball player Donyae Baylor-Carroll has been named a Preseason All-American by Basketball Times.

Baylor-Carroll is one of 24 NCAA Division III men's basketball players to earn the prestigious honor. He joins baseball player Bret Williams as the only student-athletes in school history to earn preseason all-America honors of any kind.

Following a breakout sophomore campaign last season, Baylor-Carroll was named to the D3hoops.com All-East Region First Team and was pegged Second-Team All-East District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). He also earned All-ECAC Second-Team recognition.

His most-recent accolade comes after he was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Player of the Year and a NEAC First-Team All-Conference selection last winter. The Harrisburg, Pa. native was named to the City of Basketball Love (CoBL) All-Area Second Team after picking up NEAC Tournament MVP honors following his stellar play in the conference championship game. Baylor-Carroll was also named the NEAC Player of the Week three times in 2019-20.

The versatile guard's most impressive performance came when he scored a program-record 45 points in a double-overtime victory at No. 6 Johns Hopkins in the team's first-ever NCAA Tournament contest. He averaged 35.5 points per contest across a pair of NCAA Tournament games against JHU and No. 13 Yeshiva. Baylor-Carroll ranked third in the nation in 3-point field goals made (118) and sixth in the country in 3-point field goals per game (4.07). For the year, he averaged 19.3 points, 4.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game, while shooting 40.7 percent from 3-point range to go along with 14 games in which he netted 20-plus points.

Basketball Times, described as "The Real Voice of Collegiate Basketball" since its inception in 1978, is widely read by coaches, administrators, and basketball media. The publication is a combination of award-winning writing and a considerable amount of inside information.
