FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's basketball teams are set for postseason play, with both squads qualifying for this week's Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournaments. Both programs will take part in first round action on Tuesday night, Feb. 19.
The men ended the regular season with a 13-12 overall record and a 5-9 mark in conference play. The Lions earned the tournament's No. 6 seed and will travel to take on No. 3 Mary Washington at 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The Blue & White will look to avenge a pair of losses to the Eagles earlier this season. Both losses came by single digits, with UMW besting Penn State Harrisburg 69-61 at the Capital Union Building on Jan. 12 before holding off the Lions 68-62 earlier this month.
The women finished the regular season with an overall mark of 10-15 and a 4-10 record against CAC competition. The Blue & White secured the tournament's No. 7 seed and will head south to face No. 2 Southern Virginia on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Lions split the regular season series with the Knights, falling 67-57 at the CUB in early January before handing SVU its first conference loss of the year in a 64-53 victory in Buena Vista, Va. three weeks later.
