St. Mary's, Md.- Saturday February 13th, this afternoon the Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team hit the road to take on Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opponent St. Mary's (Md.). For most of the game the score was tied with each team battling back and forth to regain the lead. Harrisburg held off the Seagulls for most of the game but fell in the final minutes 65-56.
As the second half progressed, both teams fought to get points on the board while also trying to slow each other down. The Lions held off the home team for the opening ten minutes of the second half. With 8:53 to go, St. Mary's went on a 6-0 run to get ahead of Harrisburg. Harris and Sodini both came up big for Harrisburg with three straight three pointers. With less than three minutes to go, Harrisburg trailed by six. The Lions were able to sink two more baskets but this was not enough to overcome the Seagulls lead. Two players scored in the double digits for Harrisburg, Harris and Williams both put 12 points on the board.
Penn State Harrisburg will travel to Wesley on Wednesday February 17th for their second to last regular season game. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 pm.
