Lions Fall Short Against Wesley

Middletown, Pa.- Wednesday January 20th, tonight the Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team took on the visiting Wesley Wolverines. The Lions dominated the first half but the visitors pulled away in the second half. Wesley went on to win 65-43.

Arick Sodini (Manalapan, N.J. / St. John Vianney) put Harrisburg on the board first with his first three of the day followed by a second three pointer just a few seconds later. Wesley responded with their three to get back on top. Freshman Kahlil Williams (Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) sank two back to back baskets to give Harrisburg five points. Gbolahan Alliyu (Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) went on to hit two straight baskets to tie the game up at 20. The Wolverines responded with a five point run to regain the lead. Senior Anthony Morgan (York, Pa. / New Hope Academy) fought to get a jumper underneath the basket before the end of the first half. With only 45 seconds to go, Jourdon Wilson (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) came up big for Harrisburg with his first three of the day to tie the game up at 30 for both sides heading into halftime.
 
Morgan drilled his first jumper of the second half to give the Lions a two point lead. The Wolverines came back with their own three. Alliyu responded with a layup to put Harrisburg back on top for what would be Harrisburg's last lead of the game. The Lions were only able to score nine more points throughout the second half. The Wolverines began to pull away due to Harrisburg's inability to get on the board. Alliyu led for the Lions with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
 
Penn State Harrisburg will be back in action on Saturday January 23rd. The Lions will host Salisbury at 3 pm.
