Hot Shooting Continues Against Penn State Abington

MIDDLETOWN, PA - With Penn State Harrisburg shooting 61.5 percent from the field connecting on 24 field goals and holding a commanding 60-27 halftime lead, there was no surprise the Nittany Lions passed the century mark on back-to-back games Wednesday, January 27th at the Capital Union Building.

The Nittany Lions would defeat Penn State Abington 101-58, improving the blue and white to 11-5 on the season and 9-1 against conference opponents.

Penn State Harrisburg would set two school records on the evening, making 41 fields goals and assisting on 25 baskets.

Nick Liddell (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) and Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) led the Nittany Lions with 23 points each. Liddell shot 8-for-10 from the field off 5-for-7 from behind the arc collecting three steals in just 24 minutes of play. Alston connected on 10-for-17 from the field grabbing eight rebounds and assisting of six plays adding two blocks. Steve Jones (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) contributed 18 points, seven assists and three steals. Jordan Gatchell (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) tailed 11 points shooting 3-for-4 from behind the three point line. Brian Ongeri (Hershey, PA/Hershey) grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Joshua Howard led Penn State Abington with 18 points and eight rebounds. Naseer Khalid collected 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Corey Curtis finished with 11 points in the losing effort.

Penn State Harrisburg (11-5) travels to face-off against Wells College (11-5) on Saturday, January 30th. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
