Nittany Lions Win in Lopsided Affair

MIDDLETOWN, PA - The Penn State Harrisburg men´s basketball team defeat visiting Penn State York in a lopsided win Tuesday, January 12th at the Capital Union Building, 85-54.

Powered by Steve Jones´ (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) 16 points and five steals the NIttany Lions took a commanding 22 point lead at halftime, 47-22. In the first half, the blue and white shot an impressive 58.8 percent from the field assisting on 13 of their 20 field goals while only committing five turnovers.

After intermission Penn State Harrisburg would increase their lead to as many as 35 before finishing their sixth win on the season, outscoring Penn State York, 38-29.

Jones´ led the Nittany Lions with 25 points on 11-for-21 shooting, collecting nine rebounds, nine steals and five assists. Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) gathered another double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds with five assists, four steals and two blocks.Brian Ongeri (Hershey, PA/Hershey) contributed 10 points and five rebounds. Off the bench, Kenny Stone (Philadelphia, PA/Scotland)wrapped up his game going 4-for5 from the field with 10 points and two blocks.

Johan Erimee led Penn State York with 21 points off 7-for-9 shooting, going 7-for-8 from the charity stripe, while adding five rebounds. Chase McGowan finished with 11 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort.

The Nittany Lions with travel to Penn State Berks to play the 4-8 Lions on Saturday, January 16th. Tip-off is schedule for 3:00 P.M.
