Golembiowski Powers Wildcats Pass Nittany Lions

UTICA, NY - 2008-09 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Player of the Year, David Golembiowski, continued to dominate Penn State Harrisburg in a 97-84 victory over the 13-8 Nittany Lions, Saturday, February 13th in Utica, New York.

When playing the Nittany Lions, the 6´7" forward Golembiowski averages 26 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks, shooting 63.9 percent from the field and 53.6 percent from behind the arc. In Saturday´s match up there would be no change with Golembiowski scoring 30 points, grabbing nine rebounds and blocking four shots while shooting 12-for-15 from the field and 5-for-6 from downtown.

With the defending NEAC champions leading at halftime, 54-41, the Wildcats went on a 35-14 run in the first 10 minutes of the second half to increase their lead to 34. Although the Nittany Lions finished the half on an 18-2 run of their own, SUNYIT´s impressive offense led the Wildcats to their 18th victory on the year.

Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) led the blue and white with 28 points on 12-of-26 shooting, 2-of-4 from behind the arc, grabbing 11 rebounds, four assists and blocking six shots. Nick Liddell (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) shot 4-of-6 from beyond the three point line to earn him 14 points adding six rebounds and two blocks. Jordan Gatchell (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central)contributed 10 points and seven assists in the losing effort.

In addition to Golembiowski offense performance, Diloo Brown added 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Floyd Thorne and Kevin Cappiello each reached double digits with 14 and 13 points respectively.
