Nittany Lions Win Third Straight on the Road

MORRISVILLE, NY - The Penn State Harrisburg men´s basketball team grabbed an early 6-0 lead and never looked back against the hosting Mustangs of Morrisville State College Sunday January 3rd en route to a 74-70 victory.

The Nittany Lions led by as many as 11 in the first half before heading into halftime with a 39-31 advantage over the Mustangs.

In the second half, Morrisville State was able to bring the game within one with :31 seconds remaining but it was clutch free throw shooting by the Penn State Harrisburg guards to ensure the 74-70 win going 5-for-6 from the line.

Three Nittany Lion players reached double figures led by freshman guardSteve Jones (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) with 21 points and 12 rebounds, going 8-for-13 from the field including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) chipped in 16 while grabbing 11 boards and blocking six shots while teammate Brian Ongeri (Hershey, PA/Hershey) added 12 points and nine rebounds.

Bryan Eddy led the Mustangs turning in a double-double performance with 13 points and 11 boards, while teammate Ron Tarver added 13 points and eight boards. Hodges Sneed and Kyle Gordon each added 11 points while Andrew Vandyke had 10 assists on the day.

The NIttany Lions travel to Messiah College Wednesday, January 6th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
