Two Nittany Lions Honored by NEAC

MIDDLETOWN, PA -Penn State Harrisburg´s Kenton Alston (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) and Steve Jones(Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) were selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men´s Basketball All-Conference recipients for the 2009-10 season.

Alston, a sophomore forward, was selected as a first team all-conference player for leading the Nittany Lions in points (524), points per game (20.2), rebounds (233), rebounds per game (9.0), block shots (66) and block shots per game (2.54). In the conference, Alston was second in scoring, sixth in rebounding, 11th in field goal percentage (.478), seventh in steals per game (1.88) and third in block shots. In just his sophomore year, Alston is Penn State Harrisburg´s second all-time leading scorer (930), first all-time in rebounding (449) and first all-time in block shots (139).

Jones, a freshman guard, was selected as a second team all-conference player for leading the Nittany Lions in steals (109) and steals per game (4.36) finishing second in points (497), points per game (19.9), rebounds (151), rebounds per game (6.0), assists (79) and assists per game (3.16). Among the conference, he finished third in scoring, 13th in rebounding, 13th in field goal percentage (.458), seventh in assists, ninth in free throw percentage (.715), first in steals and ninth in assist to turnover ratio. This season Jones would have ranked first in the nation in steals per game as well as tied for the top performance in a single game with 10 steals.
