Baseball Earns National Ranking, Receives Votes In Pair of Polls

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's baseball team has earned a national ranking in the most recent ABCA Division III Coaches Poll and continues to receive votes in the latest D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 Poll.

 

Winners of 18 of their last 20 and unbeaten in conference play, the Lions (22-7, 9-0 United East) earned the No. 23 ranking in the latest ABCA Coaches Poll. They also received 37 votes in the most recent D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 Poll. According to D3baseball.com, Penn State Harrisburg has played the 32nd-toughest schedule in the nation so far this season. The Lions are 4-4 against nationally-ranked opponents this season, with wins over Arcadia, Christopher Newport (twice), and York (Pa.).

 

Individually, four pitchers in Danny Eden (twice), Josh Berzonski (twice), Kyle Mahady (twice), and Fisher Druck have combined to earn seven United East Volt Division Pitcher of the Week honors, while Brendan Henn (twice) and Carlos Irizarry have combined for three United East Volt Division Player of the Week accolades this spring. 

 

Penn State Harrisburg hosts Lebanon Valley for a crucial non-conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
