AURORA, N.Y. - Penn State Harrisburg's baseball team completed the weekend sweep of United East foe Wells with a 16-6 victory in a weather-shortened contest on Saturday afternoon, April 22.

Maddux Ryan drove in seven runs and became just the third player in program history to hit for the cycle, Dallas Hite homered and had three RBI, and Brendan Henn and Matt Parks each had three-hit outings.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (27-7, 17-1 United East) dispatched of a scrappy Wells squad in a 16-6 win that was called after six innings on Saturday due to weather.

The Lions got on the board first thanks to a Kevin Lehner double that drove in Brendan Henn in the top of the first before Parks crossed the plate when Maddux Ryan singled through the left side. The visitors followed it up by executing a double steal that allowed Lehner to score from third base and make it 3-0 in the opening frame.

The Express (10-24, 4-14 United East) got one back in the bottom of the first before putting up a three spot in the second to take the lead. Penn State Harrisburg answered back in the third when Ryan hit a three-home run to reclaim the advantage for the visitors.

Wells responded again and drew even at 6-6 in the bottom half but the Lions roared back and scored five runs on four hits, including RBI triples from Parks and Carlos Irizarry, in the top of the fourth.

Reliever Simeon Davis retired the Express in order in the bottom of the fourth and Penn State Harrisburg poured on five more runs on six hits in the top of the sixth, highlighted by Dallas Hite's three-run blast, before weather halted the game early.
