brendan henn celebrates after hitting a triple in a win over no. 16 arcadia in 2023

GLENSIDE, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's baseball team wrapped up its weekend series with No. 16 Arcadia on Monday afternoon, taking two of three from the nationally-ranked Knights by winning the previously-halted second game 14-7 before falling 9-4 in the series finale.

GAME 2

With Penn State Harrisburg holding a 13-6 lead over Arcadia in Sunday's second outing, the game was halted due to darkness in the middle of the eighth inning and eventually completed on Monday afternoon. Each team tacked on another run before the Lions sealed the 14-7 victory.

Kevin Lehner opened the bottom of the eighth with a walk before giving way to pinch runner Joe Licolli. He advanced to second on a wild pitch, stole third base, and eventually plated when Brendan Henn singled through the left side, giving Penn State Harrisburg (5-1) an insurance run heading into the final frame.

The Knights (2-3) used three hits in the top of the ninth to score one run but reliever Simeon Davis stranded a pair of runners when he got Justin Massielo to fly out to right field to end the game, sealing the series victory for the Lions.

GAME 3

After securing victories in game one and two, respectively, Penn State Harrisburg dropped a 9-4 decision to No. 16 Arcadia in the final contest of a three-game series on Monday afternoon.

Josh Lantz drove in a team-high two runs and Matt Parks walked three times. Brendan Henn doubled to account for the team's lone extra-base hit of the game.

The Lions (5-2) struck first when Lantz's two-out single pushed Kevin Lehner across in the top of the second but the Knights (3-2) answered back and took the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom half.

Lantz came through again in the top of the fourth with an RBI groundout that scored Henn after he led off the inning with a double. Penn State Harrisburg pulled ahead in the fifth when Lehner singled with the bases loaded to plate Lucas Floyd and a Henn fielder's choice pushed Blaine Waltimyer across to make it 4-2.

From there, Arcadia put up crooked numbers in the bottom of the fifth, sixth, and seventh frames to take a 9-4 lead and despite chances in the seventh and eighth, the Lions were unable to cut into the deficit the rest of the way.
