GREENSBORO, N.C. - Penn State Harrisburg's baseball team has earned the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award presented by Sports Attack for its success in the classroom during the 2021-22 campaign.

In order to earn the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, a program must earn a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher during the most-recent academic year.

In addition to the team's efforts in the classroom this season, Penn State Harrisburg racked up 30 victories for the third time in four seasons, won its second consecutive conference championship, and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season. The Lions also received votes in the season's final set of national rankings for the second year in a row.

Individually, 18 players also earned United East Scholar-Athlete recognition earlier this summer thanks to achieving a combined GPA of 3.4 or higher during the most-recent fall and spring semesters.
