Baseball Headed to No. 19 Denison for NCAA Regional Action

INDIANAPOLIS - For the third consecutive season and fourth time in program history, Penn State Harrisburg's baseball team is headed to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Lions will compete in the Granville, Ohio region hosted by No. 19 Denison, beginning on Friday morning, May 20.

 

Fresh off winning a second straight United East Championship and sporting a 30-15 overall record, Penn State Harrisburg secured a spot in the Granville Regional and will face the hosts from No. 19 Denison (32-8) in the team's first outing on Friday morning. Joining the squads at the regional are the defending national champions in No. 9 Salisbury (29-8) and William Paterson (30-13). All games will be contested at Denison's Big Red Field from May 20-22.

 

 

In total, 16 sites will serve as regional venues for the 2022 NCAA Tournament, with 14 of them hosting four teams and two others hosting a pair of teams for double-elimination competition. The winners of each regional will advance to the super regional round scheduled for May 27-28 at sites to be determined. The winners of the super regionals advance to the Division III College World Series, held at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

 

The Lions will take on nationally-ranked Denison in the team's first contest on Friday morning, May 20. First pitch is set for 10 a.m.
