Gettys Named United East Pitcher of the Week

LATHAM, N.Y. - After a sterling performance in a victory on Sunday afternoon, Penn State Harrisburg's Zach Gettys has been named the United East Pitcher of the Week.

 

He joins teammate Drew Harshbarger as Penn State Harrisburg hurlers to earn the weekly award this season.

 

Gettys was outstanding in a 9-0 victory over Penn State Berks on Sunday afternoon. The senior threw a complete game and scattered just three hits en route to the shutout win, striking out 11 batters and allowing just one walk in seven innings thrown. In the process, the York, Pa. native became the program's all-time wins leader with 17 for his career.

 

The Lions return to action when they host York (Pa.) for a non-conference outing on Tuesday afternoon, April 12.
