Baseball Headed to Wisconsin for NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – For the second consecutive season and third time in program history, Penn State Harrisburg baseball is headed to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Lions will compete at the Whitewater Regional, hosted by Wisconsin-Whitewater, beginning on Thursday night, May 27.

 

Fresh off winning the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship and sporting a 28-7 overall record, Penn State Harrisburg earned the No. 4 seed in the Whitewater Regional and will face No. 3 seed Texas Lutheran (28-12) in the team's first outing on Thursday night. Joining the squads at the regional are top-seeded Adrian (32-7), No. 2 seed Wisconsin-Whitewater (37-5), fifth-seeded Luther (31-14), and No. 6 seed Salem State (13-8). All games will be contested at UW-Whitewater's Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium from May 27-30.

 

In total, eight sites will serve as regional venues for the 2021 NCAA Tournament, with each hosting six teams for double-elimination competition. The winners of each regional will advance to the double-elimination pool play championship scheduled for June 4-9 at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

 

The Lions will take on nationally-ranked Texas Lutheran in the team's first contest on Thursday night, May 27. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
