Baseball Continues to Roll During Road Sweep of Wells

AURORA, N.Y. – Penn State Harrisburg baseball completed its penultimate day of regular season competition by sweeping North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Wells on Saturday afternoon, May 1. The Lions took game one 8-3 before leaving no doubt in a 19-1 victory in the nightcap.

NOTABLES:

- With his solo shot in game two, Bret Williams became just the fifth player in NCAA Division III history to hit 60 career home runs.

- Nick Fitzgerald got the start and went 5.2 innings in game one, striking out nine and picking up his second victory of the season.

- Williams, Matt Parks, and Tyler Aug each had multi-hit outings in the opener.

- Parks hit a two-run home run, while Aug added a pair of doubles, two RBI, and two runs scored.

- The Blue & White racked up 18 hits, including six of the extra-base variety, during their dominating effort in game two.

- Dallas Hite finished a double shy of the cycle in the second contest, finishing 4-for-5 with a home run, a triple, three RBI, and three runs scored.

- Williams was 3-for-3 in game two with a homer, two RBI, two walks, and a pair of runs scored.

- Chase Smith scored a game-high five runs in the second outing.

- Maddux Ryan went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in the late game.

- Kevin Maiolo turned in a quality start in the nightcap, throwing four innings and allowing just one run on two hits to go along with four strikeouts.

- Everett Horton, Tom Westers, and Chris Brindle combined to throw five scoreless innings of relief after spelling Maiolo.
