Frostburg, Md.- After clinching their first-ever Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) playoff spot this weekend with a win over #11 Salisbury, the Penn State Harrisburg baseball team traveled to the #1 seeded Frostburg State this afternoon to take on the Bobcats. The Lion's dominated Frostburg, scoring 9 straight runs in just two innings. Harrisburg went on to beat the Bobcats, 14-0.
As the sixth inning got underway, Harrisburg showed they were not slowing down offensively. Denniston, Josh Brubaker, and David Klein each hit a single to add three more runs for Harrisburg. In the eighth inning, Angstadt singled to left field as Connor Bowers ran home. Brubaker brought in Harrisburg's final run of the afternoon with a single to center field, advancing Angstadt to home plate off of a fielding error by the Bobcat's center fielder. Denniston, Klein, and VanHouten led for the Lion's with three RBI's each. Freshman Mark Artley dominated on the mound for Harrisburg with a stellar pitching performance. Artley pitched seven straight innings, giving up only two hits, while also striking out 11 batters.
