Blue and White Come Up Short Against Wesley

Middletown, PA.- The Penn State Harrisburg baseball team looked to get a win against Wesley this afternoon in order to move up to fifth place in the conference. The Lion's could not overcome the Wolverines early 4-0 lead, falling 8-3 to the visitors.

In the first inning, Wesley jumped out to a 3-0 lead off of two singles and a fielder's choice. Harrisburg got their first run of the afternoon in the fourth off of a single by Blake Reiff (Manheim, Pa. / Manheim Central).  Freshman Jared Smith (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) added to the Lion's tally with a grounded ball to the pitcher, advancing Reiff to home plate. The Lion's final run of the day came in the eighth inning, as David Klein (Sugarloaf, Pa. / Hazleton Area) advanced to home on an error by the pitcher. The visitors added three more runs in the final inning to seal their fifth straight win.
 

Penn State Harrisburg will travel to Franklin and Marshall tomorrow, April 7th, for a non conference match up against the Diplomats. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
