Harrisburg Comes Up Short Against the Eagles

Middletown, Pa.- The Lion's bats were kept in check Friday, as four Elmira pitchers combined to allow just three hits in a 6-3 victory for the visitors.

The Soaring Eagles jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after the first two innings. Elmira led with two back to back double RBI's and a home run. With bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, Connor Bowers (Mount Joy, Pa. / Donegal) walked to first, sending Kevin Kremer (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) to home plate. With Bowers at bat again, Chris Iocca (North Brunswick, N.J. / N. Brunswick Twp) advanced to home plate thanks to a wild pitch by the Soaring Eagles. Elmira came up with an additional run in the eighth, to extend their lead, 6-2. At the bottom of the ninth, Will Quiles (Tamiment, Pa. / East Stroudsburg North) tripled to grab Harrisburg's last run of the game.

Harrisburg will host Southern Virginia tomorrow afternoon at 12 and 2 pm.
