Penn State Harrisburg Takes Down #8 Frostburg State

Middletown, Pa.- After a difficult first game, the Penn State Harrisburg baseball team took down nationally ranked #8 Frostburg State in their second game this afternoon. The Lion's struggled keeping the Bobcats off the board in the first game but went on to win 4-3 in the second matchup.  

The visitor's wasted no time in the first game getting on the scoreboard as they brought home eight runs in the first four innings. The Lion's found their stride in the seventh inning with two back to back singles followed by three runs off consecutive walks making the score 6-10. Harrisburg added two more runs in the eighth and one in the ninth but fell in the end 15-9. Tyler Johnston (Frenchtown, N.J. / Del Val Regional) helped the Lions slow down the Bobcat high powered offense pitching 3 and 2/3 innings allowing five hits and striking out three.
 
In the second game, the Bobcat's led by three heading into the fifth inning. Will Quiles (Tamiment, Pa. / East Stroudsburg North) singled in the bottom of the fifth, sending Kevin Kremer (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) home for the Lion's first run of the game. With the momentum swinging Harrisburg's way, Kremer singled advancing Bower to third as Tom Denniston (Harrisburg, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt) ran to home plate thanks to an error by center field. With the Blue and White trailing by one, Quiles singled for the second time to send Denniston home to tie the game up at three. The Lion's pulled ahead for the lead in the eighth inning off a single RBI from Josh Brubaker (Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster County Christian).
 

Mark Artley (Milton, Pa. / Milton Area) dominated on the mound at pitcher for the remainder of the game as Harrisburg went on to win 4-3. Artley pitched all nine innings, with 12 strike outs and only seven hits. 

Penn State Harrisburg will travel to Marymont (Va.) on Wednesday March 16th for their third conference match up of the season. Game time is scheduled for 12:45 pm.
