Harrisburg Comes up Short Against the Eagles

Penn State Harrisburg came up short when they traveled to Bridgewater for a non-conference double header. The Lions fell to the Eagles 7-0 and 7-4 on Saturday February 27th.

In game one, the Lions ran into trouble with the Eagles starting pitcher who held the Lions to two hits while striking out six batters. The Eagles had a different view from their side of the plate, recording seven runs in the game.

In game two, the Lions tried to right their wrongs from the first game. Penn State Harrisburg got on the board first thanks to a single to center field from Blake Reiff (Manheim, Pa. / Manheim Central), sending Will Quiles (Tamiment, Pa. / East Stroudsburg North) to home plate. Bridgewater went on to score seven straight runs in the bottom of the 5th and 6th inning. During the top of the 8th, Ethan Kell (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area)  stepped up and hit the Lions first home run of the season. In the following inning, Kevin Kremer (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey) followed in Kell's footsteps with Harrisburg's second home run of the game. The Eagles went on to take game two 7-4 and claim the series win.

The Lions will travel to Hood tomorrow afternoon for their second double header of the weekend.
