Houseal Named to All-Conference Team

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg outfielder Colton Houseal (Maytown, PA/Donegal) has had a strong 2012 campaign.  The sophomore played in 38 of the Lions' 39 games this year and posted the best numbers of his young career.  Not surprisingly, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has taken notice.  On Wednesday, Apr. 25, the league named Houseal to its West Division all-conference second team.

The Donegal grad has been one of the blue and white's most consistent hitters this spring.  His .361 batting average was good enough to lead the team in that statistical category.  He also led the squad with 48 hits, including four doubles.  Houseal finished his breakout season with 24 runs scored and 20 RBIs to go along with his .391 slugging percentage and .411 on-base percentage.  In addition to stealing six bases, the second-year player has been incredibly efficient at the plate and had no problem putting the bat on the ball.  In 133 at-bats this season, most of any Penn State Harrisburg player, Houseal struck out just three times.  He was also stout defensively and racked up a .953 fielding percentage playing right field.
