Lions Split With Tigers

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg men's baseball team opened up conference play on Saturday, April 2 with a double header against the visiting SUNY Cobleskill Tigers. The Nittany Lions split the games to start the NEAC season 1-1.

The Nittany Lions outscored the Tigers 6-3 behind three Josh Kefauver (Wellsville, PA/Northern York) RBI's. Freshman Chris Sabol (Pringle, PA/Holy Redeemer) threw a strong game, striking out 5 batters and only giving up one earned run.

The Tigers came out fighting in the second game creating an early three run deficit for the Nittany Lions. TJ Houseal (Maytown, PA/Donegal) and Drew Schanz (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) scored Penn State Harrisburg's only two runs of the game to bring the score to 3-2. SUNY Cobleskill nocked in four runs in the fifth inning to give Cobleskill the NEAC victory.  

The Nittany Lions will continue NEAC action tomorrow as they host the SUNY IT Wildcats at noon.  The Blue and White Society will be hosting a tailgate during tomorrow's game.
