Nittany Lions Take Two from Keuka

MIDDLETOWN, PA – Two tremendous outings from sophomores Dan Vignola(West Islip, NY/West Islip) and Jonathan Ventura (Bronx, NY/Herbert H. Lehman) boost the Penn State Harrisburg baseball team past conference opponent, Keuka College, Friday, April 2nd at the Penn State Harrisburg baseball field, 6-0 and 6-1.

In game one, Vignola would only give up two hits in seven innings of work, striking out 10 batters en route to his second straight 10 strikeout performance.

Offensively the Nittany Lions had four players with at least two or more hits capped off by a 3-for-3 game from Brett Harmony (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra)who captured two RBIs and two runs. The blue and white bats were able to produce 9 more hits to ensure the 6-0 victory.

In game two, Ventura relied on an errorless defense, forcing Storm hitters into 12 fly outs and 8 ground outs allowing seven hits and an earned run in seven innings of work.

The bats would remain hot for the Nittany Lions scoring six more runs off eight hits featuring a two run home run by Drew Kramer (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) in the bottom of the 3rd to put the blue and white up, 3-1.

Harmony would finish the day going a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs. Kramer ended his day going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs.

After starting the season 0-10, Penn State Harrisburg has won their last five out of six games, going 5-1 in the conference putting them second in the west division.
