Penn State Harrisburg Split in Non Conference Action

MIDDLETOWN, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg men's baseball team split in non-conference action Tuesday, April 6th against Penn State Altoona, 7-4 and 0-2.

A leadoff tripled by Bob Reece followed by a RBI double from Ryan Pollicino in the top of the 3rd inning, gave Altoona the early 1-0 lead heading into the bottom half. The blue and white would then answer back with three runs powered by a two RBI single from junior Josh Kefauver (Wellsville, PA/Northern York).

Penn State Harrisburg would tally four more runs in the 5th inning to give the Nittany Lions the commanding 7-2 lead. Although a late charge by Altoona in the 7th, pitcher Drew Kramer(Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) would finish the complete game allowing eight hits, four earned runs, striking out five batters to grab his first win on the season.

In game two, a two run 3rd inning by Penn State Altoona would be enough with pitcher, Matt Hanser, shutting out Penn State Harrisburg, only allowing three hits while striking out nine Nittany Lions en route to the 2-0 victory.

Penn State Harrisburg will play host to visiting Penn State Abington, Saturday April 10th in conference play. First pitch will be thrown at 12:00 PM.
