Knull Represents in River Valley League

Dubuque, IA - Nick Knull (Enola, PA/Cedar Cliff) is spending his summer playing baseball in the heartland of America.  For the second year in a row, a member of the Penn State Harrisburg baseball team is playing in the River Valley League.  The River Valley League is a collegiate summer league located in Dubuque, Iowa.  Knull follows Matt Umberger ('10 ELED) who played in the league during its inaugural season in 2009.

After a slow start, Knull, who is playing the infield for the Hawks of the River Valley League, has found his swing.  At the midway point of the season, he is currently hitting .355 (11 for 31 including 2 triples) which ranks him in the top 5 in Batting Average for the league.  Knull has also scored 10 runs for the Hawks.  Because of his first half numbers, Knull was named a member of the North squad for the league's North vs South All Star game on July 3rd.  He finished the All Star game 2 for 2 with a triple, 2 RBIs and a run scored in the North victory.  For his efforts, Knull received Player of the Game votes.

The experience Knull gains playing in the River Valley League should go a long way toward a successful senior season.  He will again be playing third base for the Penn State Harrisburg team that was the 2010 NEAC runner-up.
