MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's Student-Athlete Leadership Council (SALC) is joining the United East and the conference's student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) for the upcoming "United Feast" Canned Food Drive set to begin next week.

Penn State Harrisburg will be collecting canned goods during the one-week food drive that will run from Monday, Jan. 30 through Sunday, Feb. 5. A collection bin is labeled and located outside the front desk in the bottom entrance of the Capital Union Building (CUB). All Penn State Harrisburg staff, faculty, students, and visitors are encouraged to participate in the charitable initiative. All items collected at Penn State Harrisburg will be donated to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.

"This is an initiative we are really excited about," said United East assistant commissioner Sam Carges. "Our conference SAAC group was a bit in disarray after the pandemic year but since then, it has taken massive strides to come together and create this opportunity."

All nine of the conference's member schools will be taking part in the food drive. The United East will tally each schools totals on Wednesday, Feb. 1 and Friday, Feb. 3 before releasing the final count following the drive's final day.
