Blue & White Splits at Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's Women's Volleyball team earned a split Saturday when they took the floor at Rosemont for a tri-match with both Rosemont and Misericordia.

The Lions lost their first game of the afternoon to Misericordia 3-0. The Cougars were led by a great all-around performance by Kellyn Swanson, who had 22 digs to go along with six kills and three service aces. Marion Chipala (Cape Coral, Fla. / Oasis Charter) led the Lions with seven kills and Jessica Farabaugh (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) and Erin Goodyear (Boiling Springs, Pa. / Boiling Springs) led the team in digs with seven each.

The Lions rebounded in the second game against Rosemont, as they swept the Ravens in three competitively played sets 25-19, 25-18, and 25-15. Rosemont was led by a great performance on both sides of the net by Eve Romanowski who had 21 digs to go along with 17 kills.

 Harrisburg put together a total team effort both offensively and defensively to get this win. The Lions were again led in digs by Jessica Farabaugh, who had ten. Marion Chipala had another good all-around performance as she had seven digs to go along with a team-leading seven kills.

The Lions will next be in action Wednesday October 16 at home against Frostburg State at 7 p.m.
