LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to her efforts at the Alvernia Winter Invite over the weekend, Penn State Harrisburg women's track & field athlete Steph Reider has been named the United East Women's Field Athlete of the Week. 

Reider continued the torrid start to her track & field career at Alvernia's annual indoor event by breaking the program's all-time record in the weight throw thanks to a top toss of 13.89 meters in the event - a mark that earned her a runner-up finish out of 22 total competitors. The senior also secured a sixth-place finish out of 37 total throwers in the shot put with a top effort of 9.79 meters. 

The Lions will return to action when they make their second trip of the season to Franklin & Marshall for the Mini-Dip Invitational on Saturday.
