LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to her record-breaking performance at Franklin & Marshall last week, Penn State Harrisburg's Leah Gray has been named the United East Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
At the Diplomat Open hosted by F&M on Friday night, Gray bested 40 other competitors to win the 60m while setting a new program record with a blistering time of 7.91 seconds. Her effort currently ranks 34th in the nation in the event. The senior followed it up with another record-breaking run in the 200m, finishing third in a field of 39 participants with a time of 26.99 seconds. When adjusted to 26.58 seconds for track size, the Windsor, Conn. native's effort stands a program record in the event.
The men's and women's track & field teams will return to action at the Alvernia Winter Invite on Jan. 20.
