STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's track & field teams began their 2022-23 indoor campaigns at the FastTrack Opener at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday afternoon, Dec. 2.

Thanks to strong efforts across the board in the season opener, numerous improvements were made to the record book for each program.

On the women's side, Tatyana Gibson broke the program record in the 400m by nearly a second and a half thanks to her time of 1:01.77 in the event. The sophomore also combined with teammates Leah Gray, Makayla Grace Weber, and Madison Parks to run a 4:21.53 in the 4x400m relay; a mark strong enough to rank second all-time in program history.

Gray and Weber also etched their names in the top three in the 60m and 60m hurdles, respectively. Gray's blazing effort of 8.12 seconds in the 60m was good enough to rank third all-time, while Weber's 10.10 seconds in the hurdles was the third-fastest time in program history.

For the men, it was throwers Sean Myron and Comlan Greg Acoliste making their marks on the record book. Myron launched a top throw of 11.92 meters in the shot put to rank third all-time in the event. Acoliste vastly improved upon his previous top mark in the weight throw and his effort of 12.38 meters is the new third-longest toss in program history.

The squad's distance and middle distance runners shined as well, with Mohammed Sakayl, Kaiden Braught, Luke Culver, and Jon Carnesi combining to run a program-best 7:47.89 in the 4x800m relay. Paul Netland III added a top-10 finish in the 60m hurdles behind a time of 8.81 seconds in the event.

With the season opener behind them, the Lions will look to build on their strong start when they return to action at Franklin & Marshall's Diplomat Open on Friday afternoon, Dec. 9.
