KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Thanks to its success in the classroom during the 2022-23 campaign, Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team has earned the United Soccer Coaches (USC) College Team Academic Award for the second consecutive season.

In order to earn the USC College Team Academic Award, a program must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher during the most recent academic year. As a group, Penn State Harrisburg achieved a team GPA of 3.52 during the 2023-23 season.

In addition to the team's achievements in the classroom last season, Penn State Harrisburg continued to make history on the field, earning a regional ranking for the first time in program history and advancing to the United East Championship Game for the third straight year.

Individually, 16 players earned United East Scholar-Athlete recognition earlier this summer thanks to achieving a combined GPA of 3.4 or higher during the most recent fall and spring semesters. Sydney Hemler and Sarah Toche-Manley received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recognition, while Hemler was named to the USC Scholar All-America Second Team after being tabbed the inaugural United East Women's Soccer Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
