MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Thanks to their combination of athletic and academic success this fall, three Penn State Harrisburg soccer players have earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors. Sydney Hemler and Sarah Toche-Manley were named to the CSC Division III Women's Soccer Academic All-District Team, while Luke Myers earned the same distinction on the men's side.

The trio joins former baseball standouts Bret Williams and Drew Harshbarger as Penn State Harrisburg student-athletes to earn CSC (formerly CoSIDA) accolades.

The 2022 CSC Academic All-District Men's and Women's Soccer Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Hemler was named the United East Defensive Player of the Year after leading a back line that is allowed just .74 goals per game. The United East All-Conference First-Team selection helped the Lions secure 13 shutouts on the year, including eight in a row to end the regular season. The Boiling Springs, Pa. native also recorded nine total points thanks to four goals and an assist. The outside back was named the United East Defensive Player of the Week three times in October. The Biology major also holds a 3.80 cumulative GPA.

A 2021 United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Region Second-Team selection, Toche-Manley was strong in the midfield this fall, tallying seven total points behind a pair of goals and three assists. The United East All-Conference Second-Team pick also contributed to the team's stout defensive unit. For her efforts, the Harleysville, Pa. native was tabbed the United East Defensive Player of the Week in mid-September. Toche-Manley holds a 3.97 GPA as a Criminal Justice and Sociology major.

Myers continued his excellent play in the midfield this season and was rewarded with his second consecutive United East All-Conference First-Team accolade. The Millerstown, Pa. native recorded eight assists this season; the second most of any player in the conference. He also netted three goals, including one game winner, to finish with 14 total points on the fall. Myers currently holds a 3.86 cumulative GPA as a Biology, Finance, and Marketing major.
