LATHAM, N.Y. – For the third week in a row, Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer player Sydney Hemler has been named the United East Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Hemler's efforts on the back end in a pair of victories helped extend the team's recent shutout streak to seven straight games. In a 1-0 blanking of Goucher on Tuesday, the senior helped lead a unit that allowed just three shots on the night. The defender followed it up with another strong effort in a 4-0 win over Morrisville on Saturday, keeping the Mustangs from getting off a single shot on frame and adding a goal for good measure.

The Lions will close out the regular season when they host United East foe St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 29. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
