Women's Soccer Debuts In USC Regional Rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time in program history, Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team has broken into the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III Regional Rankings.

 

Fresh off a pair of shutout victories last week, the Lions (10-3-3, 5-0-1 United East) debuted at No. 8 in the USC's Region IV rankings. MIsericordia holds the top spot in the region, while Montclair State earned the runner-up position. Rowan ranks third in the region, The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) sits fourth, and DeSales rounds out the top five. New York University (NYU) is sixth and United East foe Penn State Berks ranks No. 7.

 

Penn State Harrisburg has faced four regionally ranked teams this fall in York (Pa.), Franklin & Marshall, Penn State Berks, and Arcadia.

 

As a team, the Lions currently rank top 25 in the nation in a number of statistical categories, including 15th in total assists (15), 21st in both shutout percentage (.667) and total points (122), and 22nd in total goals (44).

 

Penn State Harrisburg heads to New York to face United East foe Morrisville in the team's penultimate game of the regular season on Saturday afternoon.
