LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to her efforts the team's most-recent shutout victories, Penn State Harrisburg's Sydney Hemler has been named the United East Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Hemler helped anchor a back line that allowed just two total shots across a pair of shutouts; the first a 2-0 win over Lancaster Bible on Wednesday night and the second a decisive 10-0 decision against Gallaudet on Saturday afternoon. The Boiling Springs, Pa. native also added a goal in the victory over the Bison on the weekend.
The Lions return to action when they travel to Arcadia for a non-conference tilt on Wednesday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
