Lions fall to Blue Jays

Middletown, Pa.- This afternoon the Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer team hosted Elizabethtown College. The Nittany Lions put up a solid effort throughout the game but this was not enough. The Blue Jays went on to win 7-1.

The first ten minutes of the game were very even as both teams battled to score the first goal of the game. Elizabethtown's Lauren Fredericks found the back of the net in the thirteenth minute of play. Lauren Berry went on to score the second goal for the visitors in the twenty-fifth minute of the first half. Elizabethtown had two more goals in the first half from Trisha Clark and Morgan Chambers.

The Nittany Lions were able to score in the second half due to a beautiful cross from Erica Hile Ickesburg, Pa. / West Perry). Hile's teammate, Kristen Stark (Lancaster, Pa. / Donegal) was able to get behind the cross and put a point up on the board for the home team.

The women return to play on Wednesday September 23rd. Harrisburg will host Penn College at 4 pm.
