Correa, Galbreath Earn All-Conference Recognition

LATHAM, N.Y. - Thanks to their efforts this season, Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball players Giahny Correa and Jayla Galbreath have earned United East Volt Division All-Conference recognition. 

 

Correa was named to the United East Volt Division All-Conference First Team, while Galbreath garnered second-team all-conference honors.

 

Correa secured the first all-conference nod of her career after a junior campaign that saw her lead the team and rank third among Volt Division players with a 17.4 points per game average. The guard also averaged 2.3 assists and 2.2 steals per contest. The Lebanon, Pa. native set the single-season program record for points scored (434) and was named the United East Championship Tournament MVP after scoring 13 points in the title game. 

 

Galbreath joins former standout Kendis Butler as the only players in program history to earn three all-conference honors, as her most-recent second-team plaudit is her third in as many seasons. The team captain averaged 11 points, two assists, and 1.9 steals per contest. The Shrewsbury, Pa. native currently ranks 25th in the nation in 3-pointers made (70) and 33rd in 3-pointers per game (2.59). Earlier this season, she became just the fourth player in program history to score 1,000 career points.   

 

Penn State Harrisburg (17-11) captured its first United East Championship over the weekend and will begin NCAA Tournament play at No. 24 SUNY New Paltz on Friday night.
