MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's softball team completed the season sweep of conference foe Lancaster Bible with a pair of victories over the Chargers at Courtney Pollock Memorial Field on Friday afternoon, April 15. GAME 1

Penn State Harrisburg (15-8, 9-2 United East) racked up 14 hits in an 8-1 victory over Lancaster Bible (6-17, 6-9 United East) in the opening contest of a conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon.

Madelyn Krantz, Steph Reider, Madeline English, Delaney Nevius, and Lauren Hess all had multi-hit outings, while Carissa Yeager picked up her 13th win of the season inside the circle.

The Lions wasted little time getting going at the plate, with Olivia Herncane doubling in the game's first run just three at-bats into the opener. McKenzie Boozel drove home Madelyn Lehigh two at-bats later before English's two-out RBI single to left field made it 3-0 after one.

The home team worked some more two-out magic in the second, as Lehigh singled home Hess after she doubled earlier in the frame. The third inning was the only one in which the Blue & White didn't score, as Reider's two-out single plated Hess and Madelyn Krantz in the fourth. Krantz got into the act in the fifth, singling up the middle and scoring English. Boozel put the finishing touches on the scoring with an RBI single to center field that plated Reider in the sixth.

Yeager rolled throughout the afternoon, allowing just one run on four hits and a lone walk. She also struck out four in the win.
