angad bhullar winds up for the shot put during a meet at alvernia in 2023

READING, Pa. - After a month-long hiatus, Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's indoor track & field teams returned to action at the Alvernia Winter Invite on Saturday, Jan. 14.

Angad Bhullar, Tony Pelino, and the women's 4x200m relay team earned their way onto their respective program's record book, while numerous competitors for both the men and women secured top-10 finishes.

Bhullar's top toss of 12.84 meters in the men's shot put was strong enough to rank him second all-time in the event in program history, while Pelino's best attempt of 3.65 meters in the men's pole vault was good enough for the runner-up spot in the program record book. The women's 4x200m relay team of Layla Germain, Nofisat Aina, Tatyana Gibson, and Leah Gray combined for a time of 1:53.73; strong enough to secure the win over York (Pa.) and Rowan, while also ranking second all-time in the event.

Elsewhere on the women's side, Gray earned a sixth-place finish in the 60m dash after running an 8.13 in prelims and an 8.17 in the finals. Gibson also finished ninth in the event with an effort of 8.38 seconds. Makayla Grace Weber came home sixth in the 60m hurdles behind a 10.48 in the finals after running a 10.36 in prelims. Aina secured a fourth-place finish thanks to a top bound of 4.53 meters in the long jump and Emily Weber's best throw of 9.19 meters in the shot put was good enough to earn her fifth place. Weber also came home ninth in the weight throw thanks to her best effort of 9.81 meters.

For the men, Paul Netland III finished 10th in the 60m hurdles behind a time of 9.04, Sean Myron's top throw of 12.08 meters in the shot put was strong enough to secure him a ninth-place finish, just one spot behind Bhullar, and Comlan Greg Acoliste earned a 10th-place finish in the weight throw thanks to his best toss of 11.61 meters.

The Lions are set to next compete at Moravian's Indoor Meet at Lehigh's Rauch Fieldhouse on Saturday, Jan. 21.
