Track & Field Excels at ECAC Outdoor Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's track & field teams wrapped up the 2022 outdoor season at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championships at Southern Connecticut State on Thursday afternoon, May 19.

The most impressive performance of the day came from Tatyana Gibson. The newly-minted New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women's Outdoor Rookie of the Year won gold in the 800m and shattered the program record in the event thanks to a time of 2:12.90; an effort strong enough to rank her top-30 in the nation.

Fresh off securing NJAC All-Conference Second-Team honors a week ago, Starr Williams also captured an ECAC Title, as her top bound of 10.58 meters was good enough to secure her gold in the triple jump.

After earning NJAC All-Conference Second-Team recognition in the heptathlon last week, Kyli Moon-Rumsey was back to competing in a pair of events at ECACs, claiming a runner-up finish in the javelin with a top throw of 29.28 meters to go along with a fourth-place effort in the 100m hurdles behind a time of 16.87 seconds.

Throwers Angad Bhullar and Sean Myron were in action on the men's side, with each competitor etching their names in the Penn State Harrisburg record book on Thursday. Bhullar won gold in the discus and moved into second all-time in program history in the event thanks to a top toss of 40.92 meters, while Myron's best throw of 11.83 meters in the shot put was strong enough to earn him ECAC silver and move him to third all-time in the event.
