Four Men Reach Semi-Finals at ITA Regionals

The Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis team had a great weekend at the ITA regional tournament in Virginia with two doubles teams reaching the semi-finals.

Harrisburg's Victor Costa / Chris Magee competed in the B1 Division.  After a very tough match to start the tournament off winning 9-7 in the round of 16, the men then took the quaterfinal 8-5 to reach the semifinal.   Unfortunately that is where there tournament would end with an 8-2 defeat.

The Blue and White's other doubles team of Tyler Cook / Karim Fahwy also reached the semi-finals.  Their road was a little different.  They started out with a breazing through the round of 16 with an 8-2 win.  This was followed by a more difficult quarterfinal that again the men were able to pull out with ease 8-4.  Cook/Fahwy found themselves down in the semifinal for the first time and eventually lost an 8-4 decision to end their tournament.

All and all, it was a very good weekend for the men participating as individuals as oppossed to their usual team matches.  They hope to take the momentum from this weekend's success into their team match at Albright this Tuesday.
