Men's Basketball Matches Single-Season Win Record

ABINGTON, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team turned things on in the second half en route to an 82-61 road victory over United East foe Penn State Abington on Tuesday night, Feb. 15.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn State Harrisburg (21-2, 14-1 United East) matched the program record for wins in a single season thanks to a 21-point victory at Penn State Abington (12-11, 6-8 United East) on Tuesday night.

Dylan Daniels led the way with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double. Nate Curry and Zegary Scott III scored 16 points apiece, while Pedro Rodriguez added 14 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

After threatening to pull away late in the first and again early in the second half, Penn State Harrisburg clamped down defensively and began to put things out of reach with an 18-4 run that culminated with a Rodriguez layup off a Donyae Baylor-Carroll feed that made it 63-48 with 8:11 left to play.

Scott and Rodriguez combined to score the team's next six points, Curry followed it up by burying a jumper, and Scott knocked down a midrange jumper to make it 73-52 and push the advantage past 20 for the first time with 3:49 remaining

Coleman converted an old-fashioned 3-point play with 2:16 to go before connecting on a jump shot with less than a minute to play. Donald Friday Jr. put a bow on the victory with a jumper in the closing seconds.

After a back-and-forth first half that saw Penn State Harrisburg take a 37-33 lead into the break, the visitors stretched their advantage to seven on three occasions after the break following a pair of treys from Curry and two free throws from Baylor-Carroll. Penn State Abington closed the gap each time until the visitors put together the game-changing run that turned it into a rout.
