Men's Basketball Continues to Receive Votes In National Poll

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - For the second time this season, Penn State Harrisburg's men's basketball team is receiving votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 National Rankings.  

 

Fresh off a 90-57 victory over conference foe Gallaudet over the weekend, the Lions (20-2, 13-1 United East) received four votes in the latest national poll. The Blue & White also received votes in the organization's national rankings last month. 

 

Penn State Harrisburg is in the midst of an historic season that's seen the team race out to the best start in program history. The Lions finished non-conference play with a 7-1 record and have won 17 of their last 18 contests. The Blue & White defeated their non-conference opponents by an average of 16.2 points per game. The team is also besting conference opposition by more than 24 points per outing.

 

Through 22 games, Penn State Harrisburg ranks top-10 in the nation in assists per game (20.5), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.52), blocks per game (5.5), scoring margin (20.3), and steals per game (12.2). The squad also ranks top-20 in scoring defense (61.9), field goal percentage defense (39.0), turnover margin (5.3), and personal fouls per game (13.3).  

 

The Lions return to action when they travel to face United East foe Penn State Abington on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
